The theme is definitely Japanese. You remove your shoes upon waking in. Tea and a towel are brought to you while waiting. They then counsel you on the type of service. I recommend the inyou.

They have nice promotions too for first time clients. There are some things that are not 100% clear (what the bowls and stools are for near the shower heads on the communal bath room for instance). Some simple pictorials for instructions would be good so you don’t have to ask.

The massage was fantastic. Very relaxing and very professional staff.

I realize this spa costs more than other places. I cannot say if it is worth all of the extra amount, but for a gift or to take 3 hours for yourself once or twice a year, it is perfect and worthwhile.

If you equate it to eating out….you can get a good meal for $30. But sometimes you will pay $75 for a similar meal at an upscale establishment for the service and ambience.

At no time was I rushed (like some places). The staff was courteous and polite. I hope to go back at least once every 6 months.

mbience: it is so relaxing. So pretty and comfortable. The thing I really like the most is the tub, gives you the vibe like those japan hot springs.

Services: fast and pleasant, however it would be better if they could advise us first on what treatment we should get. We were served with tea before and after the treatments.

My husband and I had the inyou relaxation massage and it was really relaxing, in fact we had a good sleep at night after the massage.

What I didn’t really like is the price. The price is on the high side, expected but it could be improvise a little bit. And oh we need to pay an extra $60 if we wanted to use the couple room, which I totally feel is a bit odd as this is the first time me and my husband got charged for it and come to think of it, we didn’t even get to use the tub.

Everything here is outstanding and the team is very professional. I like the Japanese-theme. Worth signing up for a membership package if you live or work near Bukit Timah Road. The Living Cafe next door is great for enjoying a healthy meal after your spa treatment. They have a second location in Clarke Quay called Ikeda Spa Prestige which I hope to visit soon.

Come to Ikeda Spa Prestige for a facial and ended up with a foot massage as well. Facial was really good… Can feel that the products used was top grade… Added a 30 min massage and only wished it was longer… Have been to many international chains spa, yet this is one of the best I had. The staffs were very welcoming. I booked an couple room which has a onsen with city skyline view that is perfect! Literally feels like a little kyoto.. Just that it is in Singapore. Thank you for the great experience!

Ikeda Spa is definitely a place you would not want to miss if you are looking for a spa to relax your mind and body! The minute I stepped into Ikeda, I was warmly greeted by their friendly staffs. From its ambience to customer service to therapist’s professional skills, everything was totally perfect! Tried out their 90min massage and the communal onsen bath and I have to say the treatments were totally refreshing! I do not have to travel all the way to Japan to try out the onsen bath, Singapore has it right here at Ikeda Spa! Had a great time relaxing here, indeed Ikeda Spa has lived up to its reputation. Strongly recommended spa to visit! 😀

Ikeda Spa is truly a rare gem in Singapore. I mean, who would have thought that we could actually experience onsen style public bathhouse here?

Tried their public bath once and result was amazing, my skin is so soft and smooth!

I was very amazed by their shop interior! It look exactly like Japanese ryokans (traditional inns that originated in the Edo period) every little detail teleports you from the watering holes of Clarke Quay to the quiet sanctuaries of Kyoto. Very impressed! It really make me feel like I’m back in Japan. Best feeling ever!

Visited Ikeda Spa with my boyfriend, so that I can have more reviews about the place and service that they are providing. We was very excited and can’t wait to indulge in the onsen!

Both of us chose Samurai Deep Tissue – A deep-tissue massage designed to increase flexibility, speed muscle recovery, and relieve soreness resulting from over exertion. Ideal before or after intense sports activity, such as biking, jogging.

Asked the masseur to focus on my shoulder and back, love how she exerts the right amount of pressure which worked magic in relieving stress in my body and soul. My boyfriend and I dozed off halfway through as it’s way too comfortable!

Was searching on the net for a good spa and stumble upon Ikeda Spa, Singapore’s first Japanese Spa and indeed first class as well.

Came in on the 2nd of March with my friend to give it a try.
From the authentic decor, to the warm treatment by the staff, Ikeda has certainly lived up to the awards that they have achieved.

The Onsen bath was refreshing, giving u the feel of what hotspring is like in Japan. Its a communal pool made out of wood. The relaxation i had for 30min with the soothing music was amazing. Coming into the massage room, the interior is top notch with an attached bath for you to wash up before or after the massage.

I chose to have the Samurai massage and my masseuse, Judy, was on point. She was precise and professional in ensuring that pressure applied was suitable. Somehow she knows where my muscle strains are even without me telling her. BRAVO on that!!
And lastly no Spa is complete without light refreshment which they served hot tea.

Certainly an experience worth every penny and I would like to thank Ikeda Spa Prestige for their heartwarming hospitality and would certainly come back in time to come.

    Chocolate Love

I am a chocoholic so when I received an email from Ikeda Spa Prestige inviting me to try out their special Valentine’s Day treatment of white chocolate scrub, red rose bath and dark chocolate massage, I agreed without hesitation.
Arriving at their immaculate spa at Central, I was immediately served a cold tea drink and a wet towel. After the usual registration, I was brought to their couple’s room which reminded me of those cute little Ryokens on Japan Hour, with a cosy seating area, massage beds and a hot bath. I was off to a good start!
My therapist started with the white chocolate scrub and no inch of my body was spared as she thoroughly rubbed the sweet granules all over me. Next, I rinsed off and soaked in the heated rose bath while staring up at the artificial skylight. After 30 minutes, I hopped on the massage bed again, eager to begin my massage…and the wait was all worth it! My therapist rubbed me with languid yet firm strokes, focusing on my back and by the time she got to my legs, I was drooling and passed out. When she woke me up to turn over, I was actually annoyed that I had fallen asleep and thus did not experience the massage fully. Oh well, there was still my top half and again, she worked her magic, turning me into putty from my head to my toes.
I consider myself a spa veteran and after going to countless ones, it is the little extra things that can make a spa stand out, and Ikeda Spa Prestige checked all that: My therapist asked permission to before scrubbing my chest and underarms; her expert maneuvering of the towels that did not leave any unattended part of me exposed; wiping the scrub off my feet before I got off the bed to rinse and the glass of cold water placed next to the hot bath.
Needless to say, I left the spa slightly incoherent and smelling like divine chocolate. What’s more, the massage oil was not sticky or oily, and it took all of my self control not to lick myself like a cat. Guys, if you’re reading this, book an appointment immediately, and believe me, you’ll have a delicious and very pleased partner this Valentine’s Day.

Been there on 12 Dec, and I must say, Ikeda Spa was truly professional! They import their onsen water from Japan, which feels smooth and adequately warm inside a hinoki-styled communal bathtub big enough for two persons to lie flat. Even the shampoo and lotion are Japan made, containing rich minerals and milk. I must say, it was absolutely pampering!
I also tried their neck and shoulder massage, the masseur exerts the right amount of pressure which worked magic in relieving stress in my body and soul.
I was served tea before and after the treatments, and beside the zen-liked ambience, the service of Ikeda Spa was simply outstanding, never a single moment did they ever attempt to influence me into signing up any package. And having visited many onsen in Japan before, I have to confess I never have a better experience.

Good to average massage at a higher-end price-point

I went in for a 90-minute Samurai Deep Tissue Massage, and a 30 minute Foot Reflexology. The overall service from appointment-making to massage is between average to good, however the pricing for visitors (which is 2.5x more than the amount for locals, e.g. 200SGD for a 90 min massage as opposed to 80SGD for locals) is at an unreasonable value for the level of service and facility you are provided.

Overall: Not recommended for visitors as there is clear price discrimination.

    Pros:
    – Good to average professional massage, you could tell the experience level is not as high as compared to the spa at the Mandarin Oriental, or other 4 to 5-star hotels. They do ask if pressure is correct and make adjustments as necessary. Music is relaxing, and the facility does look clean.
    – Facilities are clean – decoration is simplistically Japanese, so do not expect luxurious fittings or decor

    Cons:
    – Price discrimination: Visitors pay 2.5x the price compared to promotions offered to non-visitors.
    – Paying 5-star price for just an acceptable massage. e.g. 200SGD for a 90 minute massage compared to 270SGD at the Mandarin for an excellent massage in a well-appointed facility.
    – Appointment making is a 5-10 minute ordeal as they look through the schedule and ask you for very specific information over the phone such as overseas phone number (if you are a visitor), address, and finally credit card information with expiration dates.
    – Location is a bit difficult to find, entrance is situated at the 5th level parking lot with entrance facing the parking lot, as opposed to the entrance being inside the mall. Although this may be convenient for those who drive.
    – One too many forms to fill out. You are to fill-in a short-form detailing your email address, and other marketing preferences prior to filling a second form with your massage preferences
    – Visitors need to pay extra to use the onsen
